Red Sox out score Royals 10-5 Featured

The Boston Red Sox scored 4 runs in the first inning and 4 runs in the 2nd inning building a 8-0 lead on the way to a 10-5 over the Kansas City Royals Friday night.

For the Royals Mike Moustakas did hit a 2 run home run. Burch Smith threw 4 scoreless innings in relief. Manager Ned Yost said the bullpen answered the challenge.

Less than 24 hours after claiming left-hander Enny Romero off waivers from the Pirates, the Royals placed him on the 25-man roster prior to Friday night's series opener against the Red Sox.

In a corresponding move, right-hander Trevor Oaks was optioned to Triple-A Omaha. Oaks, who was called up as an emergency starter replacing the injured Ian Kennedy on Wednesday.
