MIAA holds Basketball Media Day Featured

The MIAA held its basketball media day at The College Basketball Experience in Kansas City Tuesday and released the preseason Coaches and Media polls.

The Emporia State women are picked 3rd in the coaches poll and 4th in the media poll. First year Emporia State Coach Toby Wynn says the transition is going smoothly.

Senior Emily Miller says this group of Lady Hornets are motivated.

Senior Addie Lackey is looking forward to her senior season, after missing last season due to an knee injury.

Central Missouri, the defending conference and national champions, are the top pick in both polls. Fort Hays State is 2nd in both polls. Washburn is the 3rd pick in the media poll and 4th pick in the coaches poll. Pittsburg State is picked 5th in the Media poll and 7th in the coaches poll.
 
The Emporia State men are picked 11th in both the coaches and media polls. First year Coach Craig Doty says it has been a competitive preseason.

Senior Hassan Thomas says they are improving everyday.

Sawyer Glick, a graduate student transfer from Barry University, says there is a good foundation.

In the coaches poll Missouri Southern is the top pick followed by Northwest Missouri State and Washburn. In the Media Poll Northwest Missouri State is the top pick followed by Missouri Southern and Washburn.
