Madison and Chase County split on Area Game of the Week - Area scores Featured

Madison and Chase County traded victories on the Area Game of the Week Tuesday.

In the girl’s game Chase County controlled the pace throughout en-route to a 57-28 win.

Chase County would carry an 18 point lead into halftime and would extend it to as much as 20 before a short run by Madison would cut the lead to 13 at the end of the third. In the fourth Chase County would go on a 20 to 4 run to clinch the win.

Chase County Head Coach Ron Slaymaker says he’s happy with the win but would have liked a stronger start from his team.

 

Chase County was led in scoring by senior Maya Eidman with 16 points while senior Emily Farrow led Madison with 11 points.

Chase County now improves to 16-2 on the season as Madison falls to 7-12.

In the boy’s game, Madison would overcome a slow start from the field to pick up a 43-30 win over Chase County.

The score would be even at six after the first quarter before an 18-10 run in the second would give Madison a 24-16 lead at the half. In the third quarter, Madison would hold Chase County to just one point before closing the game out in the fourth.

Madison Head Coach Brett Dannels says defense made the difference for his team. 

 

Madison was led in scoring by sophomore Chase Harrison with 20 points. Senior Hunter Groh led Chase County with 14 points.

With the win, Madison now improves to 9-10 on the season while Chase County falls to 9-9.
