Monday night its the home run derby. The All Star game will be played Tuesday in Cleveland.
Whit Merrifield will be the lone Royal on the All-Star team.
The Royals had 2 players appear in the futures game Sunday night, Brady Singer and Kris Bubic.
Singer got himself into some hot water in the top of the sixth after walking the leadoff batter and yielding a one-out single to Giants No. 2 prospect/MLB No. 56 prospect Heliot Ramos. The righty quickly regained his composure, however, striking out the next two batters he faced to strand both baserunners.
Kris Bubic entered the game to a one-out, bases-loaded jam left behind in the top of the fourth, with the AL trailing 1-0. He was greeted by an RBI single that reloaded the bases, but quickly settled down to strike out D-backs No. 4 prospect Daulton Varsho. Bubic ended the frame in dramatic fashion by catching Taylor Trammell of the Cincinnati Reds stealing home to get out of the jam and limit the damage to just one run.
