Tigers rally past Royals 4-3 Featured

The Detroit Tigers rallied for a 4-3 win over the Kansas City Royals Tuesday night.

Whit Merrifield gave the Royals 3-0 lead with a 3 run home run in the top of the 3rd inning. Detroit would answer with a 4 run bottom of the 3rd with two - 2 run home runs.
The Royals and Tigers play again Wednesday night with Danny Duffy making the start for the Royals. First pitch is set for 6:10p. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM.

The Kansas City Royals announced Tuesday that they have signed right-handed pitcher Matt Harvey to a minor league contract.
Harvey made 12 starts for the Los Angeles Angels last season, going 3-5 with a 7.09 ERA (47 ER in 59.2 IP).

The Royals also placed left-handers Foster Griffin (forearm strain) and left-hander Mike Montgomery (lat strain) on the injured list, and recalled outfielder Nick Heath and right-hander Jake Newberry.

(ap) Major League Baseball has officially paused the season of the Miami Marlins until Monday now that half the active roster has tested positive for coronavirus.

A total of 15 Marlins players have tested positive — or half of the team’s roster — in the five days their season has been going.

The Marlins were scheduled to play the Orioles in Baltimore in a series that lasted until Thursday, then host the Washington Nationals in Miami from Friday-Sunday.

The schedule changes announced by MLB on Tuesday are:

• Marlins at Orioles on Wednesday and Thursday, postponed.

• Nationals at Marlins on Friday-Sunday, postponed.

• Phillies vs. Yankees, Tuesday-Thursday, postponed.

• Yankees at Orioles on Wednesday-Thursday added to the schedule.

Early reports from the Phillies tests are that no players tested positive, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, but it’s important to remember that the COVID-19 incubation period is up to 14 days.

According to USA TODAY columnist and RADIO.com sports insider Bob Nightengale, during an apperance on 93.7 The Fan's (Pittsburgh) "The PM Team w/Poni & Mueller," the Marlins' outbreak stemmed from a night out by a few of the players.

"I think a couple of guys went out in Atlanta," Nightengale said. "So, that's what happened. I don't think it was any kind of fluke from the bus driver, pilot or something like that. I belive some guys got careless... at least one guy did, for sure. He went out, and I think he came back positive, spread it around."
