Emporia High basketball teams preparing for hoped for season Featured

The Emporia High boys and girls basketball teams have begun preparing for what they hope will be the up-coming season.

Boys Coach Beau Welch is working with 13 players to begin with, several players are out due to quarantine. He says they are taking one day at a time.

Coach Welch does return 2 starters, Charles Snyder and Hunter Heins along with 5 other seniors from a team that finished 12-10.

Emporia High girls Coach Carolyn Dorsey had 29 players out for the first practice and says any practice or game will be a plus.

Coach Dorsey returns 2 seniors Emily Christensen and Macy Adams and 4 players that started. Coach Dorsey says this is a tough group of players.

The Emporia High girls and boys are scheduled to open the season December 4th against Highland Park.
