Emporia State basketball teams to tip-off season at Nebraska Kearney, womens game at Fort Hays postponed Featured

The Emporia State womens and mens basketball teams tip-off their seasons Thursday night at Nebraska Kearney.

Lady Hornet Coach Toby Wynn says he wants the Lady Hornets to be aggressive.

Emporia State is the Coaches pick to win the MIAA. Nebraska Kearney is second in the poll but received the most 1st place votes.

Senior Kali Martin says they need match the physicality of Kearney.

Emporia State mens Coach Craig Doty says they will be relying on the defense to start the season.

Senior Brenden Van Dyke says they want to prove they are better then their 12th preseason ranking.

Game times from Kearney are 5:30 for the women and 7:30 for the men. Both games will be broadcast on MIX 104.9 beginning at 5:10p.

Saturdays womens game at Fort Hays State has been postponed due to COVID-19 protocols.
The mens game will be played as scheduled on Saturday.
