Central Oklahoma closed out the game on a 9-1 run but Emporia State was able to hold on for the win.
Emporia State had 4 players score in double figures led by Ehlaina Hartman and Karsen Schultz, who tied their career highs, with 17 points. Tre'Zure Jobe added 16 points and Fredricka Sheats finished with 15 points.
The Lady Hornets are now 7 and 2 for the season.
Central Oklahoma won the mens game 71-59. Central used a 17-0 run in the 2nd half to turn a 6 point Emporia State lead into an 11 point advantage in just over 3 minutes of play.
Coach Craig Doty called it a very disappointing loss.
Austin Downing led Emporia State in scoring with 15 points. Jumah'Ri Turner added 13 points. The Hornets fall to 6-6 for the season.
Both the Emporia State women and men host Washburn Saturday afternoon.
