The Emporia State baseball team swept a doubleheader from Northwest Missouri State Friday.
The final round of the Glass Blown open will be played Saturday. After the first two rounds in the Mens open division Paul McBeth of Huntington Beach, California and defending champion is tied for first place with Cameron Todd of Wingate, North Carolina for first place at 16 under par. Emporian Eric McCabe is tied for 8th place at 12 under par. In the womens open division Catrina Allen of Madison, Tennessee has the lead at 6 under par. Emporian Paige Bjerkass is in 3rd place at plus 5. The mens and womens open division will play the final round at the Emporia Country Club.
The Emporia High girls track team finished in 1st place at the Seaman Relays Friday. The Girls 4 by 400 relay team of Alexis Davies, Linnea Meier, Paige Schmid and Taylor Cooper had the fasest time. Elizabeth Schwerdtfeger had the best long jump and Jennica Smith won the javelin. The Emporia High boys finished in 8th place. Mason Mohn had the fasest time in the 200 meter dash. The Olpe boys 4 by 800 relay team also picked up a gold medal.
