Emporia States Dean Long Central region player of the year

Emporia State senior third baseman Dean Long has been named the ABCA/Rawlings Central Region player of the year. He finished the season with a .364 batting average with 23 home runs, 81 RBI, 19 doubles, 64 runs and 12 stolen bases. He was also named the MIAA player of the year. He is joined on the first team by teammate Justin Harris. Harris finished the season with .415 batting average, four home runs, 39 RBI, 25 doubles, five triples, 69 runs and 27 stolen bases. EHS tabs Robinson/Spicer as coaches for upcoming school year.

Emporia High School is announcing the hiring of two new coaches for the 2015-16 school year.  EHS Athletic Director Curtis Simons says Mike Robinson is the new Cross Country coach and Carly Spicer is the new volleyball coach.
