The United Way of the Flint Hills is helping the United Way of Greater Kansas City and the Kansas City Chiefs raise money for the victims of Wednesday’s mass shooting incident near the end of the Super Bowl rally.
People can donate through the United Way of the Flint Hills to the #KCStrong Fund, which benefits the shooting victims, as well as law enforcement and emergency responders. United Way of the Flint Hills CEO Mickey Edwards says the funds will provide for immediate medical and mental health needs. She’s glad to be part of this effort.
This comes as the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department works with state and federal law enforcement and legal agencies to determine exactly what happened Wednesday and why. One person was killed and 22 others were hurt. Two juveniles remain detained but not formally charged at last word.
To donate, call the United Way office at 620-342-7564 or go online to unitedwayoftheflinthills.org.
