What began as a fundraiser for Messiah Lutheran Church nearly three decades ago has become a multi-beneficial fundraiser for the community with the latest edition taking place Saturday morning.
Messiah Lutheran Church hosted its annual Harvest Home Festival inside of the Lyon County Fairgrounds Anderson Building. The event as always, featured breakfast, a silent auction with more than 50 items and several specialty booths in its flea market.
The festival began many years ago as an effort to help pay off the church’s, then new, fellowship hall. Since that time it has gone on to benefit several great community causes and will do so again this year according to organizer Greg Larson.
In the nearly 30 years it has existed, Larson says the event has evolved and grown but has always embodied the classic saying “do unto others.”
Fundraising totals from the Harvest Home Festival are currently pending.
