Work continues to determine the cause of Saturday night’s fire that destroyed a home in Olpe.
Office of the State Fire Marshal Public Information Manager Lance Feyh tells KVOE News the “extensive destruction” from the fire at 730 Kansas Highway 99 is making “scene examination difficult.” Feyh also says the special agent in charge of the investigation has ruled out a lot of possible causes but not all at this time.
With the investigation continuing, the cause of the fire is currently undetermined.
The home’s owner, Suzan Stroup-Reed, says she was out of town Saturday when the fire developed. She also says the over 3,000-square-foot home was on the market as part of a downsizing effort.
