Four people were hospitalized after a three-vehicle wreck in southern Greenwood County on Tuesday evening.
The Kansas Highway Patrol began responding to the wreck at US Highway 400 and Kansas Highway 99, just north of Severy, at around 6:20 pm. Troopers say an SUV driven by 44-year-old Christopher Dunaway of West Baldwin, Maine, was southbound on K-99 and initially stopped before turning eastbound onto US-400. A westbound semi driven by 72-year-old Danny Jackman of Moran then hit Dunaway’s vehicle on the driver’s side. An eastbound pickup driven by 73-year-old Enrique Fernandez of Rogers, Arkansas, also hit Dunaway’s SUV on the driver’s side.
Dunaway was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita with suspected serious injuries, while a passenger, 63-year-old Roberto Barrera of Toronto, Kansas, was taken to Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka with suspected minor injuries.
Jackman was not hurt. Neither was Fernandez, but two of his three passengers — 72-year-old Juana Fernandez and 32-year-old Araseli Fernandez, both of Rogers, Arkansas, were taken to Greenwood County Hospital with suspected minor injuries.
