A portion of Road 250 has been vacated following action by Lyon County Commissioners Thursday morning.
During their regular action meeting, commissioners approved the vacation of a portion of Road 250 just east of Lyon County Road G following a road viewing as part of a study session Wednesday morning. This was the fourth road annexation considered by county commissioners over the last two weeks.
Commissioners would also approve two requests from Lyon County District Court Administrator Ruth Wheeler the first being an invoice from Advantage Computer totaling more than $12,600 for equipment installation and a purchase request of remarkables for judges, chief CSO and court administrators for cost of up to $5,000. County Engineer Chip Woods also sought approval of a better than $6,000 quote from Master Tech and Truck & Equipment, LLC for a basket adapter for the Highway Department sign truck and permission for himself and Assistant Lyon County Engineer Jim Brull to attend the 2025 National Association of County Engineers conference in Illinois from April 14-17.
Both requests were approved unanimously.
Facilities Director Robbie Weiss’s quote for elevator inspections, paying the City of Emporia’s LCECC portion of the Motorola Spillman/Flex CAD renewal totaling $25,537.94, as requested by LCECC Director Roxanne Van Gunday, and IT Director Jean Barnett’s quote for battery backup replacements also gained approval. Commissioners concluded their meeting with the annual employee recognition ceremony.
The Lyon County Commission will reconvene for its regular action meeting next Thursday at 9 a.m. in the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
