A special fundraising event is coming this weekend in Emporia.
The Phi Delta Theta chapter at Emporia State University is holding its third annual Love Like Lou ALS Benefit Gala at the Bowyer Community Building on Saturday. Activities will include a meal catered by Gourmet-to-Go, along with a silent auction, informational speakers and performances by the Phi Delt Jazz Band. Activities begin at 5:30 pm.
Tickets are $15 for general admission and $5 for students. All proceeds go to the Live Like Lou Foundation, named after New York Yankees legend Lou Gehrig, who was diagnosed with ALS and ultimately succumbed to its effects.
