Bourbon Cowboy patrons were left laughing and maybe a little confused after spending an evening with world-renowned comedian, mentalist and magician Devin Henderson.

Henderson took the stage of the local establishment Friday evening for a laugh-out-loud demonstration of mind-bending mentalism blended with non-stop humor throughout the night.

Henderson is the latest act to grace the Bourbon Cowboy, following a performance by Savannah Chestnut last week, as local COVID-19 restrictions have begun to ease in recent weeks. Additionally, Friday was Henderson's first live show since early March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bourbon Cowboy owner Susan Brinkman says while it's not the traditional entertainment one might expect from the venue, it's all a part of the bar's efforts to adapt its entertainment offerings to sync up with local restrictions limiting the number of people that can be inside the establishment.

Brinkman says rather than a learning curve, she and her staff have been experiencing a "learning mountain" as they have continued to adjust to the "new normal" brought about by the pandemic.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions attendance was limited to 30 percent capacity and patrons were seated in accordance with proper social distancing guidelines. Henderson's performance comes one-week before the Bourbon Cowboy will begin its "Summer Under the Stars" fundraising series next Friday at 8 pm.
