Flash flood watch posted for Lyon, most surrounding counties National Weather Service Graphic

Potential flooding is now a concern for portions of the KVOE listening area following consistent rainfall over the past 24-hours.

The National Weather Service has placed Lyon, Coffey, Morris and Osage counties into a flash flood watch until 7 am Friday.  Chase County is in a separate watch until 7 am Friday.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across the KVOE listening area through the remainder of the workweek.

Chances of precipitation remain steady at 60 percent throughout the day and evening Thursday.  Rainfall will combine with previous saturation over the past week leading to concerns of possible flash flooding and rises in creeks and rivers.

Stay with KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media for more weather updates as warranted.
