Man facing 30 charges in Lyon County District Court set for jury trial in September Featured

Jury trial is coming in Lyon County District Court in September for a man accused of alleged violence and sex crimes from late last year to early this year.

30-year-old Gregory Thomas Goad appeared in district court for a motions hearing Wednesday. Numerous motions were filed by both the state and defense with one motion for the admittance of evidence being taken under advisement by Judge Jeffery Larson.

Goad faces a total of 30 charges after alleged illegal activity with a 22-year-old in December and January. Goad faces two counts of rape, two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, four counts of kidnapping, six counts of aggravated domestic battery, six counts of domestic battery, four counts of criminal threat and single counts of criminal restraint, aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

One criminal threat charge has been dismissed. The affidavit, or law enforcement narrative, is sealed so further details are not currently being released.

Jury trial in the case is scheduled to begin at 10 am Sept. 28.
