Crews wrapped up work on the downtown sanitary sewer project at the start of September. Main Street Director Casey Woods says all involved in the project deserve a "pat on the back" for its completion.
When looking back at the past year and a half, Woods says despite some road bumps here and there the project was a "fairly painless process."
Woods believes the upgraded sewer system will help to make Emporia more attractive to potential businesses as a solid infrastructure network is a key factor businesses look into when considering a potential move to a new community.
KVOE has also reached out to City Engineer Jim Ubert for additional perspective on the project's completion.
With the project now completed, Woods says Main Street's next focus will be to continue providing tools and resources to local businesses and entrepreneurs to help move past the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. For more information on those resources and how to access them call Main Street at 340-6430, visit Emporiamainstreet.com or visit their offices at 727 Commercial Street in Emporia.
