On USD 253's COVID-19 dashboard the district stated that due to staffing shortages brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic the facility will be shifting to remote learning for "three school days." The transition began Friday and will continue until Tuesday ahead of the district's Thanksgiving break.
Current plans are for the center to resume operations as normal next Monday.
The announcement comes as the district announced 19 new positive cases in staff and 21 new positive cases in students as of Friday. The district also reported 40 new staff members and 23 new students have had to quarantine due to potential exposure to a positive COVID-19 case this week across the district.
