This year's auction, organized by KVOE and United Way Campaign Co-Chairs BJ and Kristy Bayer, yielded a preliminary total of $4,925. This year's auction ran through the entirety of last week from 6 am to 9 am on KVOE's Morning Show.
United Way Director Mickey Edwards says it was a fun week and credited the hard work of the Bayers in organizing the auction.
According to Edwards, totals are still being finalized, however, she is very confident this year's total will surpass the inaugural auction's total of just under $5,000. Edwards says they're not yet ready to reveal whether or not they have hit their fundraising goal for this year's campaign, however, she says even with fundraising down slightly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she believes everyone will be very pleased with the overall outcome.
Edwards went on to say they are still hopeful they can have an in-person campaign celebration later this year.
Edwards says they're "nearly wrapped up this year" with a few workplace campaigns still ongoing at this time.
