Downtown Emporia was a busy place Saturday night as disc golfers, local residents and vendors all partied the night away to close out the 2021 Dynamic Discs Open.

The annual DDO Block Party filled up four blocks of Commerical Street to cap off what was a tremendous week of competition in Emporia. Dynamic Discs owner and tournament organizer Jeremy Rusco says the week exceeded all expectations.

He went on to say that if residents enjoyed this year's festivities then they're going to love next year as there will be twice the competition coming to Emporia.

In attendance Saturday night was 2021 DDO men's champion Paul McBeth. McBeth says he was proud to get the win in Emporia. Aside from winning the tournament, McBeth says the best part of the week for him were the fans.

While 2022 is already shaping up to be another great year for disc golf in Emporia, there is still plenty to come this year as well. The next major disc golf event coming to Emporia this year is the 2021 PDGA Junior World Championships in July.
