Little River defeats Madison 48-24 to advance to 8-Man 1A State Championship Featured

The Madison Bulldogs saw their season come to an end in the Sub State championship with a 48-24 loss to the Little River Redskins Friday.

Little River would shut the Bulldogs out in the first half scoring three times to take a 20-0 lead into the half. Little River would recover an onside kick to begin the second half boosting their lead to 28-0.

Madison would answer back with a 14-yard touchdown run by senior Brome Rayburn to give the Bulldogs their first points of the ball game. Madison found the endzone two more times, however, they could not contain the Little River offense as the Redskins would score four more times to clinch the sub-state championship and move on to Newton.

Madison ends the season with an 11-1 record and graduates 10 seniors. Coach McMillian says that senior class helped lay the foundation of what Madison Football has become.

Madison was led offensively by junior quarterback Casey Helm with 116 yards of total offense. Little River was led by senior quarterback Jayden Garrison with 244 yards rushing.

Little River will now face Wichita County in the 8 Man Division I state championship next Saturday in Newton.
