Scattered showers are in the offing for the entire KVOE listening area Tuesday afternoon and evening. Before that rain comes to the area, however, fire danger will be elevated for residents south of Emporia.
The National Weather Service Wichita office says very high fire danger can be expected across southern Chase and Coffey counties as well as most of Greenwood County as winds pick up to as high as 25 mph. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
Rain is expected across the KVOE listening area by late afternoon. Up to half an inch of rain is possible through midnight.
