If you’re interested in a COVID-19 booster dose, currently you have just one option. That could change soon.
Right now, Pfizer is the only approved vaccination for booster doses. Lyon County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Director Jennifer Millbern says that could be changing soon.
Boosters are available and recommended for people at or above age 65, residents of long-term care centers, residents ages 18 to 64 with underlying medical conditions and residents ages 18 to 64 that are at increased risk of exposure.
The booster effort is different from the one helping immunocompromised residents, who have been told to get a third shot of either Pfizer or Moderna. If you have questions about policies for booster doses or vaccines for immunocompromised residents, call Public Health at 620-208-3741.
