Another week, another adjustment to the state’s COVID-19 travel quarantine list.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has removed Bermuda and New Caledonia from its list, but it’s added Barbados, Georgia, Latvia and Serbia. Unvaccinated residents need to quarantine if they meet the criteria as listed below:
*Traveled between Oct. 7 and Oct. 22 to Bermuda and New Caledonia.
*Traveled on or after Oct. 7 to Alaska.
*Traveled on or after Oct. 22 to Barbados, Georgia, Latvia and Serbia.
*Attendance at any out-of-state or in-state mass gatherings of 500 or more where individuals do not socially distance (6 feet) and wear a mask.
*Been on a cruise ship or river cruise on or after March
15, 2020.
Current guidance on quarantine periods and policies remains the same as before, meaning unvaccinated or partially-vaccinated residents need to quarantine for seven days with a negative test or 10 days without testing.
Fully-vaccinated residents, meaning residents who are two weeks past their final vaccine dose, do not have to quarantine if they have remained asymptomatic since they traveled. People who had COVID-19 in the past also don’t have to quarantine — if they have test evidence of a prior infection, are within six months of their infection and have remained asymptomatic since they traveled.
