It looks like Emporia’s annual street rehab project will expand. The question is which projects to add.
City Engineer Jim Ubert says the city is determining whether to add part of 15th, Wilson between Third to Sixth or Polks Drive near the Cargill pet food facility on Graphic Arts Road.
Preliminary work has already started on part of West Ninth, the source of numerous complaints after major waterline work last year — and even before the work started. Ninth will see paving work from Elm to Prairie and also from West to Lawrence.
As of now, there are almost 10 other work zones across town:
*Fourteenth from State to Neosho
*Cottonwood from 10th to 12th
*Grove from Lincoln to Garfield
*Neosho from 12th to 15th
*Prairie Lane
*Rural from Third to Sixth
*Sherwood Way from Mayfair to Washington Park
*South Merchant
*Woodland from Ninth to 12th
