The Emporia Public Library has announced its new leader.
Pauline Stacchini has been named as the next Executive Director of the Library once current Executive Director Robin Newell officially retires at the end of the month. Stacchini comes to Emporia from Austin, Texas where she served as the managing librarian at Austin Public Library.
During an interview with KVOE News last month, Stacchini stated she has several ideas for the library, including “turning up the volume” on library activities.
Current Library Director Robin Newell announced her retirement effective in July, but she continued as the library’s leader throughout the search for a new director. Maggie McKiethan, currently the director of the Spring Lake District Library in Spring Lake, Michigan, was interviewed in May.
