Railroad crossing maintenance is coming soon to a street in east Emporia.
City Communications Manager Christine Torrens says Burlington Northern Santa Fe’s contractor will close Carter Street to through traffic betrween South Avenue and US Highway 50, or East Sixth Avenue, for a short maintenance project Monday. The goal is to close the crossing in the morning and reopen it in the evening.
Residents are asked to follow all construction-related traffic control and avoid that area if possible Monday.
