Repairs have started on West Sixth after several utility poles were damaged beyond repair late Thursday afternoon.
Four poles were taken down near the Sixth and Albert intersection, apparently after a tractor snagged some overhead power lines. Evergy District Services Manager Roland Trahoon II says all four poles, three utility poles and a transformer pole, are being replaced. Trahoon says the transformer pole will continue feeding nearby streetlights and specialty uses along West Sixth once replacements are installed.
Nobody was hurt and no Evergy customers were impacted by Thursday’s incident.
