Multiple fundraisers are quickly approaching for Denim and Diamonds.
The first will be the Denim and Diamonds Golf Tournament on May 3 at Emporia Golf Course. The cost is $300 per team and will be a four-person scramble. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with tee off at 9 a.m.
The second is one of the most popular events, the Denim and Diamonds BBQ, which will be on May 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. On KVOE’s Newsmaker 2 Segment Tuesday, Newman Regional Health Events Coordinator Saylor Middleton says it’s increased how much food it’ll have for the lunch.
The cost for lunch is $10 and there’s free delivery for orders of five or more. Pickup for the lunches will be on the east side of the hospital at Entrance F.
One different fundraiser from last year to this year is an axe-throwing tournament rather than a cornhole tournament. The axe-throwing tournament is scheduled for July 13 with details still pending.
Everything leads up to its signature event on August 2 at Webb Lecture Hall on the campus of Emporia State University. This will be the 15th annual event and Middleton announced that country group Thompson Square will be performing.
Tickets for the signature event will go on sale soon.
Funds from Denim and Diamonds will go to several different areas of the hospital that need improvements.
