Calvin Heimburg hit over 95% of his fairways while carding a birdie on over 72% of his holes on the way to a three-stroke win at the men’s Dynamic Discs Open at Champions Landing Sunday. Heimburg entered the final round one shot back of Ricky Wysocki but charged into the lead with birdies on each of his first seven holes of the day. Heimburg went out in -7 and carded just one bogey on the back nine to finish the day -12 and -28 for the tournament for a three-shot victory over Gannon Buhr. Buhr tried to mount a comeback with birdies on his last six holes but it wasn’t enough to stop Heimburg from winning his first DDO title. Heimberg talked about picking up his first win in over a year.
For Heimberg, the #5 ranked player on the Disc Golf Pro Tour, it was his first DGPT win of the season.
