Lyon County property owners are probably well aware of this, but a significant deadline is coming Friday.
Second-half property tax payments are due by the close of business Friday. Residents can pay in person, by using the Lyon County Courthouse payment drop box or by mail — so long as current taxes are postmarked by Friday. Online payments are also accepted at kansas.gov/propertytax. Residents paying online will need a statement number and taxpayer ID, but they must leave out one of the ID’s zero numbers because the state payment system only allows eight digits.
Office hours in the Lyon County Treasurer’s Office are 8 am to 5 pm weekdays. Residents with questions can call 620-341-3255.
