The last phase of fundraising for the upcoming Relay for Life of the Flint Hills is underway through an online auction.
Organizer and spokesperson Monica Schmidt says the bidding process is simple, fast and easy.
Luminaria are also available at $10 for adults or $5 for children. Those are available by going to the Relay for Life of the Flint Hills Facebook page or by emailing rflflinthills@gmail.com.
In addition, two raffles, one for a special cooler through Triad Leasing and one for a custom-made necklace by Kari’s Diamonds and Bridal, are also part of the fundraising. Tickets for the cooler are $1 for one ticket or $5 for six, while tickets for the necklace are $5 for one or $20 for five tickets.
The Relay schedule has been compressed to a drive-thru luminaria ceremony at 8 pm near the Bowyer Community Building. Participants are asked to use the 12th Avenue entrance, but Schmidt says residents can circle around and go through more than once if they choose. The 24-hour onsite walk and survivor’s dinner have been canceled.
