A July 4 holiday activity in Wabaunsee County was the site of an injury crash Saturday.
Wabaunsee County Sheriff Rob Hoskins says the incident happened during an Independence Day parade at Lake Wabaunsee shortly before 6 pm. A utility vehicle was driven off the lake’s dam and overturned several times.
Two people in the vehicle, Chase William Deever of Harveyville and William Jai Mason Holman of Alma, were hurt. Both were taken to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. One — not specified by Hoskins — was airlifted.
Deputies are investigating. Hoskins thanked responders from Eskridge and Lake Wabaunsee fire departments, as well as American Medical Response, for their work with this incident.
