Blustery wind conditions will affect the entire KVOE listening area, but two area counties have been singled out for a weather alert.
The National Weather Service has Coffey and Greenwood counties as part of wind advisories going from 10 am to 7 pm. Southerly wind gusts could be as high as 40-45 mph, with winds steadily at between 20-30 mph for much of the day.
South winds will also be gusty areawide, with winds between 30-35 mph possible across Lyon County through the day.
The fire danger will be elevated due to wind speeds and dry grasses. Outdoor burning will be discouraged until Saturday. Coffey County is in a burn ban until further notice.
KVOE and KVOE.com will have updates as warranted.
