The city of Emporia continues to increase its emphasis on communicating with its residents.
The latest sign of that is an e-newsletter developed after the city’s most recent communitywide online survey. On KVOE’s Morning Show this week, Communications Manager Christine Torrens said the e-newsletter concept was popular in the survey, so she designed it to come out Fridays after City Commission meetings.
The e-newsletter also includes updates from various city departments on their operations.
Residents wanting to receive the e-newsletter can sign up for it by going online to emporiaks.gov/notifyme.
Besides the e-newsletter, residents can keep tabs on city matters through the city Facebook page and online at emporiaks.gov. They can also download the MyAlerts app to get instant information about construction updates, traffic changes, sanitation adjustments and the like.
