Recent rain has pulled any vestige of drought further away from the KVOE listening area.
The latest update map from the US Drought Monitor shows abnormally dry conditions, the mildest drought level, stretching from west of Council Grove to Cedar Point. Last week had abnormally dry conditions across almost all of Chase and Morris counties as well as part of far southwest Lyon County.
Heavy rain fell Sunday night into early Monday, with area residents getting anywhere from half an inch to over 4 inches of rain.
