A recreational vehicle was destroyed by fire while moving on Interstate 35 near the Merchant Street exit late Wednesday night.
Lyon County Deputy Dylan Jacobs says the report was made at 10:40 pm and involved an RV traveling southbound. All occupants got out of the RV, so no injuries were reported.
The fire’s cause is unclear.
This follows a car crash that led to a vehicle fire near Emporia late Wednesday morning.
The crash happened in the 2000 block of Road J around 11 am. Emporia Fire Battalion Chief Eron Steinlage says the driver was not hurt, but the car was fully involved in flames when firefighters arrived and was destroyed.
