Kansas State football coach Bill Snyder has selected junior Jesse Ertz to be the starting quarterback for Fridays season opening game at Stanford. Ertz started last years season opener but was injured on the second play and missed the rest of the season. Ertz was battling Joe Huebner and Alex Delton for the number 1 quarterback spot.
Kansas Coach David Beaty has not announced who the starting quarterback will be for the Jayhawks. Ryan Willis, who started eight games as a true freshman last season, and Montell Cozart are batteling to be the starter. Coach Beaty said they are "still in competition mode" and the starter would be revealed when one of them runs out on the field against Rhode Island Saturday.
