Flint Hills Community Health Center closed out its second consecutive year with a strong financial gain.
During the FHCHC Board of Directors meeting Tuesday, the monthly financial report for December showed a net gain of $212,000 above a budgeted gain of $27,000. This brings the year to date net gain to $1.5 million.
CEO Renee Hively says the gain can be mainly attributed to two sources of revenue, the SBA Paycheck Protection Program and provider relief funds the health center received due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is the second consecutive year the health center ended on a positive note after a $200,000 gain back in 2019.
In other business, Hively also delivered an update on the health center’s strategic plan. Within the plan is a rebranding project scheduled to be completed by Dec. 31 of 2024.
According to Hively the rebranding effort will help to distinguish the two entities housed within the health center, FHCHC and Lyon County Public Health.
The FHCHC Board of Directors will next convene on Feb. 23 at noon inside the Havenhill Conference Room.
