Master plans and bid dates will play a significant role in Wednesday’s action meeting for Emporia city commissioners.
Approval of the David Traylor Zoo master plan, along with potential bid dates for the 2014 tree trimming program, the Far West sewer project and the Coronado Street water main project are all part of the consent agenda, where several items can be passed with one vote.
The meeting will also be Matt Zimmerman’s last action session as city manager. Zimmerman will leave Emporia to become city manager in Hazelwood, Mo., on Oct. 30 and start in Hazelwood on Halloween. Commissioners have not appointed an interim city manager or officially announced their qualifications for a permanent city manager.
The action meeting begins at 7 pm at the Municipal Court Room.
