It wasn’t BYOB at The Noose on Tuesday night. Instead, it was BYOD — Bring Your Own Dog — as the Friends of the Emporia Animal Shelter organized and held their first-ever Yappy Hour at the downtown Emporia bar.
Group member Blaise Plummer says several hundred dollars was raised for the Animal Shelter’s spay and neuter programs.

Plummer says several group members saw the idea in larger cities and decided to try it here.
About 20 dog owners brought their pets to the back patio of The Noose to mix and mingle. Plummer anticipates more of the Yappy Hour events in the future.
