A one-vehicle accident near Burdick killed the driver Saturday evening.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 21-year-old Chase Kniebel of Herington was eastbound on BB Road when his SUV went off the road about 1.5 miles west of Burdick just before 8:30 pm. Kniebel’s SUV went through a fence and rolled several times, ejecting him. Kniebel was pronounced dead shortly after the wreck.
Kniebel was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. He was the only person in the vehicle. It’s unclear why Kniebel left the road.
