Central Missouri handed the Emporia State womens basketball team their first loss of the season Saturday 62-61.
Central Missouri would out score the Lady Hornets 9-1 in the final 4:48 to steal the win. The Lady Hornets were leading 60-53, Central would make 7 freethrows and a layup while Emporia State missed 4 shots and were 1-2 at the freethrow line. Emporia State shot only 29 percent in the second half. Central out scored the Lady Hornets 36-26 in the paint to pull off the win.

Merissa Quick and Kyrstie Miller both scored 11 points to lead Emporia State. Central was led by Center Revonnia Howard with 20 points. The Lady Hornets fall to 13-1 for the season and 6-1 in MIAA play. They go to Pittsburg State Wednesday.
