For the first time in Big -12 history four of five members of the mens basketball All-Big 12 First Team from the previous season return. Leading the way is the 2014-15 Big 12 Player of the Year and this year’s preseason selection for player of the year, Buddy Hield of Oklahoma.
Three more seniors – Rico Gathers Baylor, Georges Niang of Iowa State and Perry Ellis of Kansas, also named to the team is junior Isaiah Taylor of Texas. KUs Cheick Diallo has been named the pre-season freshman of the year. He is yet to be cleared to play by the NCAA. Kansas will be holding late night at the Phog Friday night.
