The Emporia State women out scored Southwest Baptist 32-8 in the 3rd quarter on the way to a 77-63 win over Southwest Baptist Thursday night.
Southwest Baptist led 18-15 after the first quarter and held a 39-31 at halftime. In the 3rd quarter the Lady Hornets erupted for 32 points while holding the Bearcats to 8 points. The Lady Hornets would lead by as many as 22 points in the 4th quarter. Coach Jory Collins was pleased with the way his team played in the second half.
Jacee Kramer was the leading scorer for Emporia State finishing with 17 points. Marissa Preston added 16 points. Jessica Wayne scored 13 points. Tyra Jones had a double-double of 12 points and 17 rebounds. Emily Miller scored 11 points. The Lady Hornets are now 16-8 and 11-6 in the MIAA. They will next play at Northeastern State next Thursday.
