Eight of the nine Emporia High wrestlers who qualified for state remain in the running for a medal. The Spartans had two wrestlers advance to the semi-finals before suffering their first loss.
Levi Buckridge at 113 pounds was defeated by Lucas Glover of Goddard 6-1 in the semi-finals. Buckridge won his first round match by fall over Tucker Bieber of Lansing. He also defeated Austin Keal of Mill Valley 5-0 in the quarter finals.
Hunter Williams at 152 pounds was defeated by Duwayne Villalpaud of Maize 8-7. Hunter defeated Joseph Hancock of Leavenworth 8-7 in the quartefinals. In the first round he defeated Dylan Williams of Seaman by fall.
Nilton Sandoval at 132 was defeated in the quaterfinals by Logan Pirl of Goddars 6-5. In his first round match Nilton defeated Logan Brede of Shawnee Heights by fall.
Anthony Delgado at 160 was defeated by Chase Ramirez of Valley Center by 3-2 decision. Delgado won his first round match by fall over Cameron Penny of St. Thomas Aquinas.

Isaac Williams at 145 won by fall over Derrek Sherwood of Salina South.
Drew Baker at 182 won by fall over Raul Martinez of Olathe West
Whit Hall at 195 was defeated by Dane Terry of Shawnee Heights by fall
Jose Ultreres at 220 defeated Roberto Nieves of Kansas City Wyandotte by fall
Dalton Leek at 285 won 1-0 over Harry Spencer of St. James Academy
