The Emporia State men finished in 2nd place at the MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Hornets had 3 First place finishes.
Taysean Goodwin won the 400 meter run, tying the meet record. He was also part of the 4 by 400 relay with Wyatt Sander, Luke Stenzel and Thomas LaRoche that finished in first place. Luke Stenzel also won the 600 yard run. Thomas LaRoach finished in 2nd place in the 800 meter run. Jared Reinke placed 3rd and Cole Bosley was 6th in the mile.
Wyatt Sander placed 5th in the 60 meter hurdles, Brandon Rhone placed 6th in the 400, Brian Newkirk 7th in the 3000 meter run. Wyatt Sander finished in 4th place and Payson Maydew 5th in the Heptathlon. Brian Newkirk placed 6th in the 5000 meter run. The mens distance medley relay of Cole Bosley, Luke Stenzel, Murad Baheyadeen, Jared Reinke finished in 2nd place. Alec Garcia placed 5th in the shot put.
For the women Elizabeth Blevins placed 3rd in the 600, Jazmin Williams 4th in the long jump, Lati Yeargin 7th in the 60 meter dash and the 4 by 400 relay team of Jazmin Williams, Elizabeth Blevins, Kelsey Graber and Kaycee Mayfield finished in 6th place. As a team the Lady Hornets finished in 13th place.
Pittsburg State was both the mens and womens team champions.
